I got lost in the woods on my own property once.

Many in my family (and it's NOT restricted to femmes!) are very poor with directions and landmarks. Sad, but true. My father used to go into pure panic when driving unfamiliar routes, while my mother could find her way anywhere. Unfortunately, her talent was not passed on to my sister and me.

I've always had a good sense of direction. One the one hand, though, you have to admit that the moon's a hard target to miss, whereas on the other, malls are designed to be confusing to encourage wandering (and, therefore, browsing).
