I've found this product to be far too commercial, useful only when you are interested in PURCHASING something.

Yes but you can use it without purchasing anything, just for a collection or archive of the items you're interested. A couple of months ago I installed it and since then I've been adding books and DVD's to my collections. Some of them are the items I own, some of them are things I want to buy. Not a "must have" extension maybe but it's useful in some ways.

Being unknowable, I've not found any of these "predictive of interests" gizmos effective.
