I know what 'uppity' means...it means thinking more highly of yourself than you should or is appropriate. Not exclusive to a particular person, race, nationality....merely an opinion.

Yes it is, since it is a common derogatory term used against African-American, at least it used to be. And guess what it used for, to attack those who like the Obama's rise "above their station", in other words, dare enter the white male dominated world and pretend they belong there, by doing stuff like, oh, I don't know, running for President of the United States.

it means thinking more highly of yourself than you should or is appropriate.

Does this congressman get to decide that?
