skwirlinator says: Why isn't this big news? The kid has never slept. They had video of him and he looks normal. Why didn't this make news in the first month of his life? Now they want to do brain surgery to make him sleep. I tried searching cnn and google for this story to clip but couldn't find it. You would think scientists from NASA or ESA would be knocking down their doors to find out about his condition. If anyone has seen any articles on this or if you have an opinion please comment. His pupils looked completely dialated in a bright hallway. He is supposedly energetic and isn't aging rapidly or anything. Since they think this surgery on his brain will correct this I wonder if there is a genetic marker or something that reduces the body's need for sleep? I think this story should be bigger than it is. I found an article The Artcle said: That is crazy! I can't believe he is not making headline news! I have heard of people who sleep for months at time, but this is in the far opposite extreme.... Workaholics across the world are going to be jealous! What would you do with all that extra time??? Chiari malformation does weird stuff to you. My aunt has it but it makes her more sleepy than other people. She has a tendency to fall asleep while driving. (She's totaled 3 cars because of it, and gotten into even more fender benders.) She also has trouble swallowing and has to use thickener in most things. I feel badly for the kid and his parents. |
