Antara
Watch NBC's Rachel Maddow
give herself a near lethal wedgie while peddling the falsehood that the
green "certification" document is proof of something, when Hawaiian
state agencies won't even recognize it as proof of citizenship. Well,
there are plenty of billboards in this country, and the signs are going
up. And, if you're not a "birther," please tell me why?

It doesn't seem bizarre that it be desired that a birth certificate be attached to a candidates filing papers. It seems very reasonable for legislators to want to diminish any likelihood for these sorts of allegations to be made against a candidate in the future.

Enough with this "Where's the Birth Certificate?" bullshit. There it is, period. Continuing to drag this on is just slander, because proof shows that it's just a desperate conservative ploy. Clinging to this non-issue is just a desperate cry for attention.

"Remember, 'Conservative' starts with 'Con'."

Antara is knowingly passing along an outright falsehood (I pointed out this was false on another of Antara's clips).

Hawaiian state agencies will not recognize the certification as proof of Hawaiian genealogy (being descended from the indigenous people of Hawaii). Certification is proof being born in Hawaii, and thus a US citizen.

JK, I doubt the fact that YOU pointed out this is false rises to the level of accusing someone of "knowingly passing along an outright falsehood." I take it that many at CM do not bother chasing down the little curiosities that you call facts. So, please, step down off that high horse and back away from the Pulitzer, Mr Murrow.

This particular "little curiosit[y]" speaks directly to Antara's false claim that Hawaii does not recognize certification of live birth as proof of citizenship. This can be easily ascertained by going to the website of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands which lays out why it needs certificates of birth, and it has nothing to do with proving citizenship or being born in Hawaii.
