I have always believed there is a correlation between education level and belief in creationism. Too bad the same correlation doesn't exist in math and science literacy.

By that I meant that there are lots of perfectly intelligent people who went to college and took as little math and science as possible and opted for such classes as 'the history of science' to fill their science requirement

About one in five Americans believe the Bible is an ancient book of "fables, legends, history, and moral precepts recorded by man."
<P>Belief in a literal Bible is strongly correlated with indicators of religion, including church attendance and identification with a Protestant or other non-Catholic Christian faith.
