We've been saving up a bit for a little party!

First thing I'm going to do is pop a cork on a bottle of champagne. Fill up the glasses of Erika, Tom, Alice, Greg and Susan and we're all going to click our glasses together and shout: Hurrah!

We'll have to decide what restaurant to go to, probably either Red Lobster or P.F. Chang's. Afterwards go to see either "W." or "Body of Lies."

I'm thinking a brainless action flick might be more fun, with treacherous CIA agents and everybody running around blowing things up and try to figure out who really are the good guys.

But a move that mocks George Bush also has some appeal.

I guess our big November, December and January holidays will grab everybody's attention then.

Certainly tuning back in to catch Barrack's Inauguration Day speech, January 20th.

I'll send a congratulations letter to President Obama. Get the email addresses of all the new elected officials in Congress and my home district ( http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/officials/ )

Every other month or so I'll send 'em all an individually addressed group email on what issues might be important at that time. That will be easy enough to do but I'm pretty much going to be laid back about it, expecting and hoping they will do the work, do the job we elected them to do.

Whew! Lots of other work to move along.

Meanwhile, two more days, I'm going to assume Obama will lose. Got more neighbors to talk to. Send out a bunch of emails. Call the family and friends. Stay on Clipmarks (and IsoHunt) and respond to any anti-Barack trash talk.

Amen. Wow! I hadn't even thought about Nov. 5th till now. It will be a great feeling!

Democrats have been very studious to tell their supports to don't believe in victory, take nothing for granted, and work through Nov. 4th as if they expect to lose.

Only last night, this morning, one day before the elections have some of their noted spokespersons finally stopped holding their breath and admit to having confidence and expectations of victory (then they themselves smile in mild surprise at what they've just said).

Good results? Well, any win (270 electoral votes required) but a good win would be anything over 300 electoral votes.

Other good results? Over 20 new Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives and 6 or 7...

Certainly better to wait to see it before believing it.

I'd even...like those Democratic pundits on TV, actually would have to admit that I expect: LANDSLIDE!

LANDSLIDE! FRIGGING LARGE VICTORY TO THE MAX.

Every metric of political victory is in Obama's favor:

Polls, amount of cash he has, the number of new voters he's registered, the paid workers and volunteers he has working for him on the streets going door to door and on the phones calling a hundred folks a day or more, enthusiasm, crowds.

Besides these advantages the first Real Factual Results have started to come in: In the early voting allowed in some states, twice as many Democrats have shown up to vote compared to Republicans and, just as important, the early voter turnout has shocked people with the large numbers showing up.

The Democrats also have thousands of people, lawyers, etc. out and active to make sure the elections are not stolen, like Bush stole them in 2000.

It couldn't look any better. In about 30 hours the results of the USA East Coast will start to come in. In about 32 hours we'll know which way the wind blows, with the results in PA, VA, & NC.
