An interesting comparison of social bookmarking + tagging sites. Good to see clipmarks up there.

Clipmarks is completely personalized experience, why is the chart saying it is not?

StumbleUpon also is personalised, as in you can pick your categories of interest, and fellow stumblers whose stumbles you like. Then, when you start stumbling, you only get content you might be interested in.

I also think their Demografic categories are a bit off. Digg is no longer about Geek Culture, it would fall under general if you ask me. Netscape? General. Newsvine? A lot of politics, but you never have to see political content, since you can personalise your experience.

It's just a very, very general review, if you ask me.

Interesting review. My sense is that this actually points to one of Clipmarks's problems, which is a pretty minor one, but still worth thinking about. Its design is such that some of its most sophisticated features are not obvious to the first-time user. For example, the chart says that Clipmarks allows you to filter by category -- maybe the reviewer just didn't notice that you can also turn on a friend filter ("My Clippers") or even both at once. I'm sure the reviewer never noticed the clip-to-blog feature, the address book feature, or the dashboard (which incidentally i almost never use). Clipmarks is so feature-rich that some users (and some reviewers) will completely ignore some features...

To me, serendipity is part of the point of Clipmarks and I am glad it doesn't have this feature.
Very cool way to say it...i like that!

I wish Clipmarks supported auto-bookmarking to other services besides del.icio.us.
We would love to do that. When we worked on this feature, the other services didn't support it. We'll take another look.

To me, serendipity is part of the point of Clipmarks and I am glad
it doesn't have this feature. Yes Clipmarks is a personalized
experience but the user is always in control of the degree of
personalization. To me, this is a good thing.
I could not agree more. I hate those sites which claims to personalize contents for you, I mean give me a break, do they think we're not capable of knowing what to like or dislike?

I could never understand stumbleupon, last time I was playing with it, I kept thinking when am I gonna hit upon porn, that was the only thing I wanted to "stumble upon". heheh.

I've been using StumbleUpon since 2003, and I guarantee you, there's lots and lots of porn to be found ... *grin*

@egoldstein:
Diigo does that with simultaneous bookmarking. Specially Yahoo and blinkllist. Also with ma.gnolia. I could not agree more with enbar on this feature, being the only thing missing here with Clipmarks.

I like the idea of Digg but the site has been hijacked by Google and Apple lovers. Also there is so much of spam of useless blog links. I never visit Digg now, just keep a feed on my google reader to check it once in a while (again I don't like to digg or burry).

Of all the social bookmarking sites, I like Diigo and Clipmarks. I feature I like the most now, Blogger integration. So neat!
