merrie says: Where is the liberal left? This story of the murder of a soldier has conveniently disappeared from the front page of mainstream news media while the Dr. Tiller killing remains front and center. The Doctor’s murder is being used by liberals to fuel their outrage and desire in conjuring up a story of domestic terrorism and having it spun around blaming political commentary host Bill O’Reilly? Why no outrage when a Muslim man, upset with the military, specifically targets a military recruiting center and kills a U.S. soldier? Judging from the White House comments or lack of comments from these two criminal acts what are we to conclude? It would appear that the death of an abortion doctor performing thousands of life-ending procedures carries more political importance than the death of a soldier assisting with recruiting young Americans to defend freedom and liberty. The death of Private William Long goes unnoted J. James Estrada June 03, 2009 Obama is at this very moment bowing down once again to the Saudi king, apologizing for people like Private William Long. And my son. It's sickening Merrie..... Since it's no longer "Bush's War" - such trivial things as soldiers dying at the hands of non existent terrorists are better left untold. The left were all to quick to point out the death of our military while GWB was in office, lying the blame of the world on him, however since Hussien took office, it's hands-off now. The White House finally released a statement. I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son. This seems more like a 'have to' sympathy statement rather than a heartfelt one. If Hussein truly felt for these soldiers, it would have come very shortly after the incident happened, not after taking hits for not offering one, however I guess a late one is better than none at all. Private William Long's Father Interview Difficult to watch interview with Daris Long, the father of Private William Long who was shot and killed while taking a break outside of a Little Rock recruiting center. The comparison between the statements is quite telling. One statement was made right away while the other took days to release. In one he was "shocked and outraged" while in the other he was "deeply saddened." In one it was "heinous acts of violence" while in the other was a "senseless act of violence." In one he talked of our profound differences over difficult issues, while in the other, nothing. Great analysis, n2 The statement the WH made on Pvt. Long's murder was generic and flat, which was released by the WH after Obama had left the country for his Middle East tour. It was as though the statement was an afterthought, and the WH was hoping the killer (black muslim convert) wouldn't get much press coverage. (I'm not using the alleged killer phrase, since he admitted he did the shootings and would have done more if there were other soldiers within range) (WH statement? Robert Gibbs? "shocked and outraged" --- "heinous acts of violence" are statements of passion, while the "deeply saddened" is pretty innocuous. |
