My mom used this technique to convince me that her opinions are shared by everybody. lol

I don't get how the study found that hearing one person's opinion repeated is almost as effective as hearing several different people's opinions based on the experiment with the students reading "group" opinions. Groups are notorious for having "groupthink", so it would be easy to mistake one person's opinion as representing several opinions of different group members.
