Ideas get developed in the process of explaining them to the right kind of person. You need that resistance, just as a carver needs the resistance of the wood.I totally agree with this. There is something about discussing ideas with other people that enables you to see pros and cons of your ideas that you just don't always see when you consider them by yourself. This is a great clip. I believe this to be entirely true. I agree with you both...it is a great clip and and is nice to know what other people thinks... This is true...to a point. If the other person is a complete ideologue, who believes "what they believe"...despite reality, then its a lost cause. However between true friends and equally educated folks, I think this point is true. This is true...to a point. If the other person is a complete ideologue,What cause is lost? I am a firm believer in talking about your ideas with other people, which always provides more dimensions and insights to that if the person you are sharing this idea with is,well, alright, and now with this great clip I do know which bunch is the 'right' one. "friendly resistance"THAT'S the key! And... do not attach their egos to their opinions.(nugde nudge willhelm) You have it backward mstaken. My opinions are attached to my ego, not the other way around. Great clip again! I agree with this wholeheartedly. As a matter of fact, I'm having an argument with my boyfriend right now because, not only does he like to disagree for the sake of disagreeing (with no explanation or logic to back it up), but he'll get angry over his interpretation of what I'm NOT saying. lol I should email this clip to him right now. P.S. You might want to send this to clipper, lordthor, who made the following comment on one of your clips: "and the fact is, I'm usually either right, or in the case of an opinion, it's usually justified." |
