I would add, to that last bit: " the intrusion of an unknown other into our private world, which results in suspicion, anxiety, and the need to defend our exposed and vulnerable intrapsychic territory" and at large -
As i see it, not necessarily such 'intrusions' are experienced as such or result in suspicion, anxiety etc., as experiencing a shuffle or defusion of boundaries may yield an opening in one's boundaries in regards to the concept of self. perhaps not such a bad idea.
