I can see why the republicans would be against a proposal to require utilities to use more wind, solar and other renewable sources to produce electricity. Really, that is such a bad idea. Thank god for politicians who keep us from adopting such bad ideas.

What i really mean is, what a terrible shame it is that politicians are bought by corporations who keep them from passing legislation that would be good for the country, the world and the environment.

True, that.

Politicians (some, more or less) are not only bought by corporations, but born and bred by them. They have profited from the status quo (and helped define it) for generations.

Yet, Oil has been positioning for decades to buy into renewables so that they might profit when renewables prevail. The biggest PV panel makers are owned by petroleum interests. When Oil argues for renewables, they will become the new paradigm.

The old money needs to be ready for the goldrush before they let it transpire... I guess.
