Partly they adhere to these archaic beliefs because it gives them biblical authority to feel superior (if they are straight) and backs up their notion of persecution when others speak out against their homophobia.

Wow. I believe that Homosexuality is wrong, but it certainly isn't for the reasons you stated. It's amazing to me that people expect others to adhere to their exact outlook on life. If they don't, they must have some evil intention (like feeling superior or adhering to an ancient custom). The author of that article was simply talking about how one who believes homosexuality can firmly state WITHOUT condemnation or hatred. There's nothing wrong with that. I just hope we never get to the point where free speech and Biblical truth is outlawed (like in Sweden).
