In the 1950s my grandmother used put the unripe mangoes into the big ceramic rice jar she always kept her rice in and occasionally our accidently soaked wrist-watches as well... The mangoes ripened beautifully and our wrist-watches would start ticking again.... Tis clip reminded me of my childhood holidays at my grandparent' in Sandakan, North Borneo (now Sabah)...
