righthand says: "A long-term agreement at that price could allow Venezuela to count its huge deposits of heavy crude as part of its official reserves, which Caracas says would give it more oil than Saudi Arabia." "According to US sources, Venezuela holds 90% of the world's extra heavy crude oil - deposits which have to be turned into synthetic light crude before they can be refined and which only become economic to operate with the oil price at about $40 a barrel. Newsnight cites a report from the US Energy Information Administrator, Guy Caruso, suggesting Venezuela could have more than a trillion barrels of reserves. "A $50-a-barrel lock-in would open the way for Venezuela, already the world's fifth-largest oil exporter, to demand a huge increase in its official oil reserves - allowing it to demand a big increase in its production allowance within Opec." ... Guardian April 03-2006 Admittedly, this was when the dollar was... worth money. What would $50 in April 2006 be in today's money? They can always switch to the Euro...wait wasn't Chavez doing that already? Where's the verified reserve reports... They can always switch to the Euro...wait wasn't Chavez doing that already?Good question deserves a good answer. On cue just TODAY... Chávez’s Plan for Development Bank Moves Ahead "Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela — signed off on the idea of creating an institution with up to $7 billion in initial capital, paving the way for the bank to begin operating as early as 2008. "An eighth country, Colombia, said earlier this month that it wanted to be included as well. Colombia’s president, Álvaro Uribe, said his... Try not to hurt yourself, but just because you can copy and paste the FIRST link that comes up in Google doesn't mean it's true. Glad OPEC doesn't figure things that way. And if The Christian Science Monitor is your only source. Then you have no real source. I knew you were a Christian Zombie. And if The Christian Science Monitor is your only source. Then you have no real source. I knew you were a Christian Zombie.Apparently there is much (just like your troll friend) you don't know. The first bit of imformation is from Wikipedia, a source you yourself have clipped from and posted here. So don't even try to discredit that info, you'll just make yourself look more foolish than you already have. Or wait... go ahead. Oil Reserves Sorry folk for this diversion into oil reserves which is not the topic of the clip. However, on this occasion the great gaffer has achieved what only he could do. He proved himself WRONG. All by himself. Well with a little prompting from Cptenaud. He appears to have scared the hell out of him with the magic words... And if The Christian Science Monitor is your only source. Then you have no real source. I knew you were a Christian Zombie. They had the effect of clapper coughing up his source, something few of us have achieved. That's Cptenaud for you. You can't keep a good man down. Now clapper's source Wikipedia - unique for clapper in that ... Now what can you say about a guy that goes out of his way to prove himself WRONG. Greater love....no, may be not. Even his mother... In my clip it mentioned in passing Venezuela oil reserves. It was not important to the story but it was to crapper. He went off on his own thing against Venezuela's claimed reserves. I was suspicious when for once he only listed the source within chunks of text. With good reason. This time the text proved him wrong but did he correct his position with the new information? Did he ever? That would take a man to own up to a mistake. No he went for the cover up like his Nazi friends that he knows so well in the White House. At the same time as th... Here's another slap in the face for ya. From that SAME WIki link: Oil Reserves You cannot even read/comprehend what you just typed.. again. (on purpose, most likely). "In an attempt to have these extra heavy oil reserves recognized by the international community", Oh wait here's a kodak moment for you as well: "Note however that the definition of proven reserves varies from country to country. In the USA, the conservative rule is to classify as proven only the reserves that are being produced. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia classifies as proven reserves known fields not yet in production. Venezuela includes non-conventional oil (bitumens) o[b]... Napster why are you so upset ? Do you actually believe that just because you said it makes it true? Sorry to bust your bubble, but your full of it !!!!! Who cares what you think, as it stands now your thoughts are irrelevant. Your always trying to shoot someone down, and your shooting blanks, nothing that you've said could prove anything, with the exception of you being a complete idiot. I think you just like to start controversy just to see who comes unwound, but now you have found someone that knows more then you, and your having a meltdown. Instead of trying to shoot someone down, try looking into a mirror and see yourself for who you are, then ask yourself why is your feeble life so tran... POP! Comment by Raven714 @crapper There's better things to do then get upset over spilt milk.Oh, Raven714 you are cruel, but I like you. I love you. You are just giving good advice and it's hard to penetrate wood. Many have tried but few/none have succeeded. I agree a female person might work but where on earth would we find a volunteer? Yes, his behaviour is that of dysfunctional person. Imagine having to LIVE with someone who believes they are always correct even when it's blatantly obvious that he's wrong. We can just ignore his ramblings, but thoughts of someone sharing his bed... Life is complicated, and so are our connections to it. Many of you know that I believe we should get all the households and small businesses off the grid by using a combination of alternative energy sources, solar panels, wind, solar water heating, etc. These methods can produce electricity thereby reducing our use of coal, natural gas, and other petroleum products. It is economically feasible now, and it will become cheaper over time. Having said that, I believe what Chavez says he will do is irrelevant. Even if he truly hopes to keep that $50.00 bargain, he will not be able to do it. Two large stumbling blocks stand in his way: 1. Heavy Oil(api gravity and impurities) 2. Lack of refiner... Yes, your information is correct. I knew about the heavy oil difficulties. At the time of his offer oil was 65$. 50$ would be a fair price with the extra refining needed. But that's not the main point. His offer at that price was FIXED into the future. The US would do well with a ready supply nearby. Now Chavez has a new partner in China. Environmentally and transport wise, the US was the obvious market. Why not. You could not trust him. Why? You did before and since with no breach of faith. So that's not the reason no matter how many may choose to believe it. A large part of it is personal. Hugo has beaten the crap out of Bush at every turn. He practically ran Bush out of South America o... Righthand: I agree. As you know, I am very global, so my response went way over the Clipmarks limit, so I posted it to my In the Know Now! blog. While I never voted for either of the Bushes, I do have empathy for the men who did. They often believe that their way of life was irrevocably destroyed when they were young men. Yet, empathy is as far as it goes. They don't mind following the economic liberalism of Friedman and Greenspan, but they want to control our persons. That is plain wrong. These are the people who have worked to make the Republican party unrecognizable to me. |
