That pretty much says it all. In this particular case, the "screw up" was accidentally erasing their email. oops.

It is hard to believe that emails are deleted, deleted. I mean common, even the most cheapest email system takes backup for sometime, they certainly can't be using disposable email addresses to communicate.

Don't the new security laws require that emails be saved for some given amount of time? Or does that just apply to us? I wonder if it there would have been any trouble if it had been any one of OUR deleted emails they wanted to recover or find. Would they have the same 'difficulty' I wonder?

For just one nanosecond reading the quote, ""We screwed up, and we're trying to fix it", I thought she was referring to the US invasion, destruction and utter screw-up of Iraq! Silly, silly me.

If the woman has gained even a smidgen of insight then she surely means they screwed up period .... damn near from the clumsy beginning to the bitter end.
