Two days before my grandfather died, he said dead relatives were in his room. He wasn't delirious or anything, just puzzled as to how they could be visiting him when he knew they were dead. Thank you for a great clip. One of my main areas of work in the ministry is going to be hospice care. Mom and I had visited Dad the morning of his death when things seemed relatively normal. After we left the nursing home, had lunch and were back to the house, the phone rang. It was the head nurse of Dad's wing calling to say that he seemed to be indicating that he wished we'd come back. (He was suffering from dementia and had little voice left as well.) We quickly returned and within a half-hour of our getting there, he was gone. As we were visiting daily, it seems obvious to me that he knew he was going. One of the great fortunes of my life was to be holding his hand as he died. I was in Lebanon when my Dad passed. Just barely made it back for the burial. A very uplifting clip that leaves you speechless. |
