Ugly is too kind a word...

Love deep sea creatures. That's what I call freedom of expression. Every one is a different kind of weird. (That's not to say things on land aren't weird, but it's the kind of weird we're more used to.)

Pokkets you hit the nail on the head. There are many things that are the kind of weird we are not used to.
Including cultures and societies. When we confront the weirdness we try to make it less weird. I associated this fish with a person I knew. It made it appear a little normal to me.
Nations try to change the weird cultures to something they are more familiar with. Some cultures don't want to change.

By the way I have seen in a documentary movie a fish in japan with a more human face than rhis one. This was one of the Japanese's attractions.
