n2sooners says: There is a reason they are afraid of signing an affidavit. prosecution Persecution? Just maybe they have wife and kids that they need to support. Hard to do that from Guantanamo. Persecution? They should be for lying about our troops. Just maybe they have wife and kids that they need to support. Hard to do that from Guantanamo. You do know that tinfoil hats actually amplify the brainwaves and makes it easier for the government to tell what you are thinking? You should switch to something more solid like depleted uranium. They should be for lying about our troops.Uh, they ARE our troops. Uh, they ARE our troops. Are they? In the first Winter Soldier a large number of those testifying never served. And there have already been a number of 'fake' soldiers who either never served or lied about their service already. And even if they are real soldiers, if they are lying about what they are saying (which is the logical reason for not wanting to sign an affidavit), then they are lying about our troops. Being one of the troops doesn't make it impossible for them to lie about the troops. You got proof of that n2? Are are the only troops allowed to talk or should I say be seen are those that serve as silent backdrop for Bush? or get pre-arranged questions to make to the President on live TV? You got proof of that n2?Proof of what, that there have been a number of high profile anti-war fake soldiers, or that those speaking out now refuse to back up what they say? And why is it those on the left are so ready to believe anything said negative about the troops while ignoring the many more troops who are saying just he opposite? If you are so concerned about listening to the troops, shouldn't you be listening to them all? It's already proven that combat make people do stupid things, so what they said is not so unbelievable. The same stuff went on in Nam. Nobody is saying ALL the troops committed atrocities. But in that kind of environment, just like at a job, where your bosses have you by the balls, you either kiss ass or get castigated and ridiculed. It could cost you your life. Maybe that's what happened to Pat Tillman. And don't forget, the all-around moral standard of conduct for young men was higher during Vietnam. Being one of the troops doesn't make it impossible for them to lie about the troops.Winter Soldier II I heard on podcast and they were giving direct descriptions of missions and they openly said their names and platoons. Why would you call our soldiers who have served "liars" is beyond me, but I guess if they describe atrocities they've done in the name of our country then they must be lying. Is that what you're saying? So many of these young people have committed suicide or came back with PTS that it must all be a dream, right? And if some attest to the good things they've done, that that means no one did any bad things, right? Why would they bother to lie AFTER they'v... I'm just going by the track record so far and the fact that all but one of them refused to legally commit themselves to what they were accusing the rest of our troops of doing. We have already had claims from soldiers who turned out to have never served in the military at all, soldiers who it turns out never served where they claim to have served, and soldiers who served where they claimed, but the stories they supplied turned out to be false. So why should I believe anyone who is unwilling to back up what they are saying, especially after they named the event in honor of another event where our military men were smeared with lies? But excuse me if I won't believe the worst about our milita... That happened once before in our history and it resulted in soldiers being spit on when they returned home, and as a disabled veteran, I won't stand around to see that happen again. Then stop spitting on them now for telling the truth. Finding a soldier during Viet Nam who lied, does not make the soldiers returning from Iraq liars. How about finding soldiers who have returned from Iraq, hooked up with the same anti-war group who set this up, and then lied? Because it has happened already. And I am not the one spitting on the troops, these guys are the ones spitting on the troops. They are spitting on the reputations of everyone they served with (assuming they served) and only one of them is willing to swear he is telling the truth. And even then I will still lean towards believing our troops innocent until enough evidence is shown to believe they did something wrong. I'm no Murtha who jumps up calling our soldiers murderers only to remain silent as one after another is cleared of charges. But in that kind of environment, just like at a job, where your bosses It could cost you your life. Maybe that's what happened to Pat Tillman. And even then I will still lean towards believing our troops innocent until enough evidence is shown to believe they did something wrong. The only troops I heard were not saying that other troops did something wrong and they did not. The troops I heard were saying what they "themselves" did, often with the full knowledge or encouragement from their superiors, or WITH their other troops. They were pointing the finger at themselves and often apologizing for their actions to the Iraqis. I wonder if you heard any first-hand accounts of these testimonies or if you're getting your information filtered from second hand spinmasters more interested in damage control. ... The troops I heard were saying what they "themselves" did, often withGood point Ace! There is a reason they are afraid of signing an affidavit.Who needs an affidavit? It's all on videotape for the world to see. They signed their lives away once. They must have learned a lesson from that. Who needs an affidavit? It's all on videotape for the world to see.Not to mention it didn't help Kerry very much. The Swiftboaters made him into a liar anyway. The propaganda machine was in full swing. And look what we got. Are you aware of the high rate of suicide for returning Vets? Do you think that has no relationship to the guilt many of them can no longer carry? Or are those just lies too? Those are lies too. Well, not lies exactly. Returning vets do indeed have a higher suicide rate than the general public. But so do men in the same age groups as those returning vets. As a matter of fact, those returning vets have a lower suicide rate of civilian men in that same age range (about 17-35). Of course, since the military does consist of women as well (although it is still mostly men in the combat rolls), and women have lower suicide rates than men, it probably means that the military suicide ... show us the numbers |
