Mai 1968 wurde in Leipzig die Universitätskirche gesprengt. Die gotische Kirche war, mit einem Stück des Kreuzganges, der letzte Rest eines 1229 gegründeten Dominikanerklosters. Funktionäre befanden damals, die Kirche stehe einem Neubau der Leipziger Universität im Wege.
