sometimes the ice in the sky forms into little plates, and when they rotate the right way together, they refract light like a prism, causing a rainbow effect (I lost an article about a cloud shaped rainbow, : [ ).. in this case it formed a halo around the sun in Ethiopia, around an election, and this also coincides on a holy day.
