The definition of a business analyst is probably one of the least understood roles in business today. From functional support to acting as lead in a project and everything in-between, I've seen them fill the role. However, they're all not created equal and many have the title but don't measure up. This article gives a good overview of what their role should be. If your business analysts aren't doing these things they're probably not business analysts.
