Don't forget Win-D to show desktop and Win-R to bring up the run bar. I use those both consistently throughout my day. I thought i knew all the shortcuts! Really nice, I've learnt a few things now! Time to go and show off to my friend! ^^ DELETE (Delete)I wasn't aware of that one. Don't forget either: Win+E to open Windows Explorer Ctrl+W to close active window (most programs) Try Win+U then Enter Ug... Ctrl-w gets me all the time. I edit in nano on linux a lot, and ctrl-w is the shortcut to search. When I switch into windows, I'll be typing away and hit ctrl-w to search, only to see my window disappear unceremoniously. I wish I could globally disable that shortcut! I love keyboard shortcuts! Wow! This helps explain some of the crazy commands executed when one of my cats steps on the keyboard while I'm typing. More: Ctrl-Shift-Esc - open Task Manager Win-D - minimize all opened window. Again press - restore. Win-M - also minimize Also try the window sign which opens the start menu. That is cool article Very good! And I thogut I knew all of them! Haha, some of them might come in handy x)~ Wow, I also thought I knew all of them... and in fact, I almost did! I think I'm sitting in front of the PC too often ... Win+F (file searrch) Alt+Shift+Num Lock (mouse keys acessibility) I think I have the capacity to remember about five of them. "ALT+ENTER (View the properties for the selected item) F3 key (Search for a file or a folder) ALT+F4 (Close the active item, or quit the active program) ALT+ENTER (Display the properties of the selected object) " Deja vu and what about shift+F3? it changes the caps of the word you're in A lot of these shortcuts could be done faster by other means in the time it takes to remember all but the most common ones or to look them up. Very useful. There's a command in windows that flips the screen (from landscape to portrait or vice versa). Three keys are involved, but I don't remember which. A serendipitous hit almost caused me to commit suicide. Had to go to the MS Windows site and type vertical screen in their database knowledge. robertoball The command I think is Ctrl Shift and the directional arrow keys (I'm not in Windows at the moment). I confuse it with the Linux command to switch workspaces and freak myself out at work from time to time. Its a good way of freaking out your workmates too if they leave their machines unlocked - fool them into thinking its a virus |
