FEMA is a disaster all its own. The next president will need to give them a serious overhaul! Of all the people who shouldn't be afraid to face an ugly situation, it's FEMA's job to face disasters, not create them!

Scolding is not enough for this. They should all lose their jobs. Immediately.

Once again this shows that the administration only cares about pats on the back and looking out for its own interests, not in actually getting things done. Which is probably why in the last 6 years, Bush has achieved nothing except for ardent self-congratulation. These people are totally insufferable politicians!

On a side note, the state department is having trouble filling positions at the Iraqi embassy. I can't think of a better place for Bush and his cronies to serve their retirements. Maybe they might actually do something for their country!

That applies to Congress and practically EVERY politician that has ever been.

FEMA knew they were being watched and scrutinised very closely after all the bung up with Katrina. For them to try and pull something like this off is not incredibly stupid and dishonest, it's an insult to our intelligence.

Good job FEMA. Way to go!

If the white house can do it for its "town hall" meetings, why can't FEMA?

Well, for your information RealNappster, that's why practically EVERY politician that has ever been is on my "shoot on first sight" list. (ATTN: FBI & Secret Service: That is a figurative term, I'm a Buddhist, so I probably wouldn't kill anyone, just give them a piece of my mind.)

In general, upon greater reflection, as my outrage fades, it just seems kind of pathetic. I am struck by how INCREDIBLY WEAK the leaders of our country are these days! Was it always this way?

Or have we come to conduct politics in such a way so that only the sniveling and spineless ever wind up holding elected office?

Actually, as Kinokonoko pointed out, this isn't really a new trend, its just especially brazen.

Of course, they have learned from their mistakes: this time instead of using a male-escort/gay porn star they stuck with hum-drum FEMA employees. That way there is less chance of them being recognized by all the closeted Republican Congressmen.
