masbury says: Jon Stewart offers a useful analogy: the babysitter, the toddler, and the basement. Not a video clip - see text after photo. Not from him. The opposition could claim mission accomplished. Was the goal to kill random citizens or to bring the USA to it's knees? If it's the second then they are well on the way to having accomplished the goal. show me the person on 9/12/01 who would have bet on the US not being hit with a big terrorist attack again for 7 years? You sleep in the peace provided by those willing to make the sacrifices to keep you safe, and then feel like you can criticize the way in which it is delivered? Its going to be interesting watching all the retreats (close Gitmo BY THE END OF HIS PRESIDENCY - Obama) coming in the next few years. Are you actually suggesting that those poor soldiers who had to go to Iraq actually had the privilege of making America safer? That may be why they joined up, but their CINC betrayed them, sending them to die for less. I sure would like to see a poll of security experts on that question. We didn't get hit by any more terrorist attacks....we didn't get hi by any asteroids....we didn't get invaded by aliens. Bush prevented all of those, too? You sleep in the peace provided by those willing to make the sacrificesTell us, tell us - what was YOUR sacrifice? or are you just another chickenhawk? His sacrifice was bearing the impertinent questions of those of us who prefer analysis to jingoism. And you'll notice that he's usually a hit-and-run commenter, throwing slams and running for cover. I'd be surprised if he reads the responses to his jabs. Why should one bother to review, I guess, when so certain of one's own rectitude? did bush keep us safe?.......in a word.......... NO @coloradowrong Did you forget the anthrax attacks? Another false flag operation no matter which version of the facts you believe. PS.you stole that line from a movie,("a few brave men", maybe) and if you recall, that argument didn't work out too well for the man who used it. Bushs JOB was never to "keep us safe". He took an oath to defend and uphold the constitution. There is no question that he utterly FAILED to do his *real* job, even if he trys to change the subject and take credit for a task that was never his to begin with. Bush is a God Damned war criminal, and Obama looks like he will be his enabler. I can't wait till the 2012 Iowa caucuses, or even the mid-term. He will fa... Excellent point! He has gotten so many to believe that a president's first job is to defend the nation - and that is a misreading of the oath of office. His first job is to protect and defend "the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic" - and he became the very enemy against whom the Constitution needed to be protected! This is not only failing his oath, but actively working against it. |
