Not a great prognosis I wonder if you take meds for depression, if those meds work on the brain enough to change at least small part of your brain chemistry or whatever is at work that leads to Alzeimer's? It seems that taking care of yourself, getitng proper meds, and not living out other risk factors (obesity, letharia, negativity, etc.) could counteract this natural predisposition. My mother wasn't depressed and she still got Alzheimer's. My attitude is to live a good, big life--take care of my health and my relationships--and deal with what comes my way. ~Carol O'Dell Author of Mothering Mother: A Daughter's Humorous and Heartbreaking Memoir available on Amazon Thanks for the information on Alzheimer's. We recently wrote an article (http://brainblogger.com/2008/06/17/using-infrared-light-to-diagnosis-alzheimers/) on how infared light may be able to diagnose Alzheimer's desease at Brain Blogger (http://brainblogger.com/). A definitive diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease requires microscopic examination of brain tissue, which is something that cannot be performed safely in a living patient. However, near-infrared optical spectroscopy may be the answer to successfully diagnosing a sick patient. We would like to read your comments on our article. Thank you. Sincerely, Kelly |
