I'm poor, Spare me your righteous research.
You want something to talk about how about doing it on someone else's time. The poor are not an animal to be studied. My wealth or lack thereof should not be fodder for your entertainment. Don't say you care because your greedy ass contributes to my condition daily.

Want to do something righteous?

Make bosses pay their help better.
Make cost of living items cheaper via volume
Tell police to stop fining people for silly things
Provide public schools with the resources they need to properly teach the poor how to manage money - Or some other life lessons that are totally ignored.
Stop pressuring families to make you rich thru donations

Better yet - just stay on your own side of the tracks.

Or we aren't credible saying what causes poverty
Here, let me help you out...
The cause of poverty - NO MONEY

WE DON"T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO COVER OUR BASIC LIVING EXPENSES.

OUR PAY FOR RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS AND MAKING YOU WEALTHY IS NOT ENOUGH TO SURVIVE ON.

Yow, man, I'm just trying to say let's shut up and listen rather than assume we know everything. I'm just a small-town, very-small-church pastor, who just may earn less than you do, who asks guests to my church NOT to feel they need to give, and who agrees with almost everything you said.

Why the abuse?

People think we choose to be poor. I get irritated when Those that have focus on those that have not so they 'Look Better' because they acted concerned.
If things keep going downhill for me I will lose my internet soon.
Just can't seem to make enough money to pay my bills.
I don't even have any credit cards, loans or payments.
I'm scraping to pay electric, rent and water
My garbage bill is overdue and its $200 before they will pick it up. Thank God we have a burn barrel.
I'm sick of eating leftover leftovers.

Makes perfect sense. I hear so many say "anybody can make it in America" - and I want them to get to know someone who works as hard or harder than they do and it just isn't enough.

That myth is so destructive and, like you say, so irritating. It implies that people who are poor are lazy, and enjoy being poor so much that they just aren't interested in working. How incredibly stupid.

I am sorry my comments sounded like I was saying that - I sure wasn't - and I'm sorry you've got this battle to fight. It isn't fair.
