China, Myanmar's closest ally and one of its biggest trading partners, has ruled out imposing sanctions.
We discussed the Asean charter only, no other issues,'' Myanmar Foreign Minister U Nyan Win told reporters in Singapore today. ``We don't want to discuss our issue.''
The European Union called for ``genuine'' dialogue for national reconciliation in Myanmar, according to a draft statement to be released after a meeting between the EU and the 10-member Asean group in Singapore on Nov. 22.
