i'm not one to jump to conclusions but I'd say "Mexicans" I'm not a racial profiler but I'd say "Mexicans" I'm not one to put blame on someone just because of the heritage, background, or skin color but I'd say "Mexicans" I'm not one to speak out of turn but I bet if you went back 10 years and did the same survey, you would find the number much less than now. I'm not one to.............. oh what the Hell. "Mexicans"

With Austin being a college town, it's not exactly a Mexican mecca. You can't do a blanket assumption.

Having lived in Austin, I know those people cannot drive.

Hee, I kid. I kid.

it was a little joke. Obviously a very little one. How the hell should I know why so many texans are wanted by the police. Or is it still "the sherriff" there? I'm over here in georgia and way to busy looking for Bigfoot to try and figure out whats going on in texas.

As the wife of a Mexican in Texas, what is a little joke to you is very different from my perspective.

Thanks wiccantexan. What's with the comment "Having lived in Austin, I know those people cannot drive." That is outrageous.

Well, the article is about overcriminalization via traffic offenses. I was just kidding.

Attention: bnm does not have a mean bone in her body. If she said she was joking she was!

My comment about a "little joke was in response to the first comment made, not in reaction to bnm.

I AM from the south, hon. But I've seen many wordings aimed at Mexican stereotypes. Many of them ARE funny, and his Mexican family thinks so too. But that one hit me wrong.

me so sorry wiccan. I love everyone!!!! I truely do!!! Color, background, sexual preference, ... doesn't matter to me. I rarely take anything serious. I guess sometimes I think everyone is that way. "note to self".... Don't mess with Texas, REALLY!

Text is so very literal, googleit, and sometimes it's hard to tell what's tongue in cheek. Hearing my husband's stories about acts against him for being Mexican (and not even darker-skinned; he's fair and blue-eyed), sometimes I'll react to a statement that seems to go along those lines. If you didn't mean it that way, my apologies.
