bignosemousie says: From Q and A with the author (first clip link): Q: What message does Moses impart? Three values lessons can be gleaned from the book. Freedom is a God-given right. God is always with us. And we should always be free to dream. Harriet Tubman’s role in the freedom struggle can give readers a sense of their own potential and power. "Every great dream begins with a dreamer," said Tubman. "Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." I saw this book at my daughter's library. It has amazing illustrations. It has won the Caldecott Honor & Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration. I can't wait to read it with my daughter. She is really interested in social justice. |
