zasel says: I become very angry when I hear Orthodox rabbis thanking President Bush for attacking Iraq and thus supporting Israel. I have no problem whatsoever with America's support of Israel, which is an ally of ours. But I become very annoyed when we are expected to go to war with a country that did not attack us, simply because an ally finds it advantageous for us to do so. I find it very interesting that the vast majority of American Jews (70%) are against the Iraq war, while we are told that the majority of Israeli Jews are happy for it. I understand differences in opinions and perceptions, but to have someone thank a leader for going to war with a country that did not pose a direct threat to that leader's country, and had not attacked the ally either, just seems particularly cold blooded. I wonder how the families of our dead and wounded soldiers feel, as well as the families of the tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians who were killed and maimed. For what are we being thanked? Amen. I guess Bush will also be thanked for attacking Iran, the next major objective of zionist extremist and the Israeli government (well documented). I, though, was recently shocked (yesterday) when many voices were objecting to the new 'arms deal,' with the USA selling weapons to Saudi Arabia: I heard it declared: "All Arabs are the enemy of Israel." It's amazing how the USA has been pulled like a puppy dog into all these Middle East conflicts by the Israeli and Jewish lobbies. It's become clear that every candidate for USA President has to pledge loyality and max defence of Israel if they hope to stay in the race. Disgusting. It's become clear that every candidate for USA President has to pledge loyalty and max defence of Israel if they hope to stay in the race.True but not just America. There are other states were a type of pledge to Israel is required before running for office. |
