Aetna is not even close, it would be like comparing Google to Yahoo.  At www.echealthinsurance.com we actually sell both companies and find the benefits with Blue Cross to be significantly better in many cases then Aetna for the same money.  Of course, this isn't always true but in many demographics the statistics are premiums are mind boggling.  The reason for this is not because Blue Cross is a better company then Aetna, quite the opposite in our opinion.  It is because Blue Cross Blue Shield has a favorable tax position in Florida.  If you are shopping for health insurance Florida you should definitely use a broker domiciled here in Florida as only they will be able to sell all eight legitimate health insurance companies.
