"Police are searching through the rock-slide scene on the highway that connects Vancouver to Whistler with dogs to make sure no one is trapped.

"There are police dogs on the site, but there is no way of knowing if there is anybody trapped there," Squamish RCMP Cpl. Dave Ritchie said.

"We're monitoring for any people reported overdue," he said. "We've done coast guard and air patrols at the edge of the debris and the water. We're hopeful there isn't anybody trapped in there.""
