hudgal1 says: People diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are generally told they have less than a year to live. Tthe survival rate is only about 10-15% after one year and 1-3% after 5 years. Early detection is key to being a candidate for surgery. By the time symptoms appear, almost 80 % are inoperable. Hopefully, this new technique will enable more people to detect it before it's too late. I had a friend that died from it at 24. I lost my father to pancreatic cancer 5 years ago. I am glad to know that now, hopefully it will affect less people. |
