juliapatriciaroy says: I cant believe only 2% of online consumers use RSS!!!! Imagine the potential of this market... Something doesn't look right, you think all these big websites would bother implementing something if it was only used by 2% of audience? Seems rather odd to me .... almost unbelievable. The other 98% have clearly not read a previous clip of mine on this matter. How to make sense of the world without an rss-based service like pageflakes (or netvibes et al.)? (and clipmarks, of course) I don't like being referred to as a consumer just because I'm online. Personally, I try not to do that much consuming while I'm here. I don't like being referred to as a consumerGood angle - does consumption require payment? Depends. What definition of consumption are you using? To ingest/absorb, I guess People tend not to absorb all information they recieve; they tend to be unable to repeat everything from memory perfectly. Personally, I tend to inquire into and contemplate information online, and then try to come to my own conclusions from that information. The result tends to be that some of that info stays with me, while many other parts are discarded (these are usually the least useful parts). Thus, I can say I don't "consume" that much online, as I only "consume" that which is useful to me that I have not gained through other methods. |
