Searching everyone’s personal files, ostensibly to uncover stolen copyrighted material, is a violation of the constitutionally guaranteed right to privacy.

It is circumventing search and seizure rules, designed to protect the public, by allowing government agents to take on an assumptive role that a crime has been committed before there is any evidence of that crime.

It is nothing less than the extension of the illegal and immoral warrantless search scheme that Bush and company unleashed on us.

The barrier between a free and civil society and the coming police state is falling one rights infringement after another.

This is what happens when you believe in a "benevolent dictatorship", that as long as "your" guy is in charge everything will be fine, but oh the horror when the "other" guy wins.

Problem is that it is the Executive who has gained these powers and unless Congress and the Courts start doing their job (with pressure from the American people) it will stay that way.

Cheney got his wish, we now have an "Imperial Presidency" which will stay Imperial regardless of which party is in power.
