This year, screeners have intercepted more than 185,000 prohibited items at Newark. Of those, 536 were considered deadly or dangerous. Nearly 160,000 were lighters. One of those lighters is mine, the buggers. I have travelled quite a bit and Newark is IMO by far THE worst airport in the world, regarding confusion, stress and the general hassle factor. If I in any way can avoid Newark Airport, believe me, I will. I have never had a lighter confiscated in any other airport in the world and last I was in Newark, they didn't take it. There is no consistency. I wonder if someone figured out how to fold an origami gun if they would start confiscating sheets of construction paper. Why would you confiscate wine? To avoid drunk people or because its the good harvest and you want it for yourself? I have seen so many people travel with wine into the country and nothing is done, so this seems kinda funny. Now the weapons... seriously what are they thinking They say that you can check baggage that contains certain items but I have found that it is not true. I lost 2 leathermans in one day. Needless to say the TSA guy didn't drop them in the trash. Weapons of mass destruction! |
