AtlLiberal says: Unbelievable. I'm speechless. Yeah, I saw this today and it's def not good. Well I think the administration is getting desperate to cover it's war bills - and selling off used hardware to potential enemies, rather then the current enemies, will let the war continue. It is a way to get the extra money without having to get congressional approval. Talk about Bizarre facts from history, culture and tradition! Sadly, AtlLib, I find it all too believable. And of course, let us not forget that our military in Iraq is now turning over heavy weaponry to groups in areas whose people were actually fighting against us. They were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers, but now, because these leaders say they are against Al Qaida, we are giving them weapons to fight against them. But what is to prevent these same people from turning our own guns against us should they decide to change allegiances yet again? But what is to prevent these same people from turning our own gunsExactly. And we've never had the ability of picking the "right" bad guy to back. Our entire foreign policy history is riddled with our past "friends" becoming our present day enemies. Let's see, who was that guy who used to run Iraq that we sold weapons to in the eighties? And don't leave out Bin Laden. The Shah of Iran. Manual Noriaga. We are just gun runners to the world. It really saddens me. I love this country, it's the politicians that suck. I agree 100% with you AtlLiberal. Although I have been living in Canada since 1985, I am still an American citizen and always will be. I love my homeland and all of its potential to do good. It is this group of politicians who are running our government that scares the crap out of me, and is destroying so much of what our country stands for. Bush and his fellow murderers are running roughshod over our Constitution. They have us living in the dire fear that FDR warned us to beware of at all costs. They have played and manipulated the basest parts of the human mind and spirit and turned our fear into hatred for others. This is an insidious administration who must be replaced. The sooner ... You're spot on zasel. Fear has become the political currency of this administration and more people are awakening to the fact that the currency is counterfeit. She noted that the Bush administration frequently complains that Iran and Syria are supplying insurgents but has paid little attention to whether U.S. military errors inadvertently play a role.Inadvertently my a$$!!! Yes Lifestar, I marvel at how journalists in the interests of appearing "unbiased" and "fair" mostly come across as being unschooled and partisan. |
