I recognize some of these photographs as having been part of Edward Steichen's "The Family of Man" 1955 MoMA exhibition, which I only know about through the book compiled in commemoration. The book also had poetry by Carl Sandburg interspersed throughout its pages in such a way that meshed as perfectly then, as it does now. I spent countless hours as a child looking at the photographs and reading the poems in the book. I feel that I gained something by doing so, and have carried it with me ever since. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but the photographs are stirring and are permanently etched, not only in my memory, but also in my soul. Amazing. Cool, that's just awesome... what about audery hepburn's famous breakfast at tiffany's photo? Wow, what a great collection! Great clip, Scattered_Fusion! A treasure to keep, and they bring back many memories. Thank you very much Scattered_Fusion. Looks like they took the photos of that site because of copyright. Some of the photos in this collection are included in the book 'The Family of Man' which can be purchased at Amazon. It's a wonderful book... highly recommended. |
