John Kyl's apparent change of heart on the immigration issue has strict conservatives up in arms. They look at his new stance as a betrayal to everything that is holy in the conservative play book on this particular subject. To say they were shocked would be to understate the general reaction. This could lead to a tremendous rift in the Republican party and stimulate even more of a desertion from Bush by his own party than originally predicted.
