AcesLucky says: This is consistent with secular morals and ethics. This is a saddening article, but unfortunately I believe it is almost certainly true. The truth is that many of the people who claim to be Christians (in America, probably ~ 2/3+) just don't live up to that claim. I know even in many of the churches I have gone to, that many people just don't tithe (give 10% of income to God's work) as the Bible commands them to. However, this article would not have been true 100 years ago. About half of the hospitals in Baltimore today, for instance, were founded by religious organizations. Unfortunately, we don't live in a Christian nation. We don't even live in a nation where most "Christians" act like Christians. Hmmmmm, maybe if they spent a little LESS time in polotics...................... Atheists have more time to help others because they don't have to worry about justifying religious doctrine. The sad part of this is that doctors have to make sacrifices to work in poorer areas. Civilized people should ensure health care for all. The sad part of this is that doctors have to make sacrifices to work in poorer areas. You know, that thought never crossed my mind, but it's also true. They're making a monetary sacrifice among others. Interesting. Many atheists have more in common with Jesus than your average evangelical! |
