alanocu says: urbex forums, defunct amusement parks, abandonments, sunken ships, photos and more.... From the page: "Ever wonder what is inside that dark tunnel or deserted structure you pass on your way to work every day? There are a vast number of spooky and surreal abandoned buildings that populate even the densest countries, states and cities. Organized into helpful categories here are thirty must-bookmark resources for would-be urban explorers around the world. In addition to those listed below (right-click on the screenshots to jump), sites like DarkRoastedBlend and LookAtThis have entire categories dedicated to abandoned places and vehicles also worth exploring." I love modern ruins - there's something about the fact that every inch has a story to tell that makes me want to explore and photograph all of it. I like any building with purple tinted windows. If only bricks, mortar and stone could speak, oh what tales they could tell! I remember sitting in the Colosseum (or Coliseum) in Rome pondering that very thought. I wondered if some of the energy of the souls of those who had passed through the place (both beast and man) had somehow been captured by the rock. I also remember reading that Paganini held a seance(sic) there one night and fled terrified at what he 'saw'. There's also a scripture that says the blood of man cries up to God from the earth. So, it's possible, I think, that everywhere people have been, they leave a residue of themselves, much like we leave our fingerprints on objects.. Thanks for the clip, Alan. I have new sites to visit. PS/ My memory may be wrong. It may not have been Paganini now that I think of it. Love the site Alanocu |
