balthazarus says: though i used the same headline as the article, i do not agree to it. Evolution is not equal to religion and they are merely two different perspectives of the same reality. Each one portrays a different worldview, a different world, a different view. the direction in religion is one of preservation, maintaining the existing order as it , whilst in evolution the dynamics are in constant motion of exploring new orders which by nature are transitory. There is no theory of evolution, just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live. Some people believe creation came from a "creator", others believe "mother nature" did it all. Which one requires the most faith to believe? Evolution requires no belief as it is a scientific theory. After rereading the comment i wrote, i'd like to be more clear a) "Evolution is not equal to religion and they are merely two different perspectives of the same reality." before the "merely" i would add another "not". these are not 2 perspective, not 2 different angles looking at the same view, not at all. Each one embeds in it a different reality a different view! b) The difference i tried to emphasize here is the one that at times is referred as god of the gaps. Meaning wherever there is a gap in the way one percieves the universe, religion puts god, by that it creates no friction and no question (all is explained via the godly agency), whilst evolution theory in the context of the sc... An invisible being that created everything from nothing... or the evidence of evolution? Hmmmm. One requires faith (because it has no facts) and the other simply follows the evidence. Hmmm. This is going to be difficult. NOT. |
