I believe we don't have that global fund because as your clip stated, half of those deaths happen in Africa. Not much mentioned about the baby, uh, fetus. I forgot it is not human. This is very sad but preventable without a "global fund". I don't really understand your comment Jay, but I have tell you unless you start contributing more to discussions I am going to have to consider blocking your comments. Hi Debby, that is one way to squelch opposition, turn it off or would you rather just have your "friends' make comments? Obviously you do not believe in free speech. I mean no harm, just stating my opinion, if you will allow that. I will ABSOLUTELY let you state your opinion Jay. The only thing I object to is that I've felt when I've asked you for clarification in the past that you seem not to be interested in discussing any further which led me to believe that you were more into saying inflammatory remarks vs. debate or statement of opinion and healthy disagreement. Debbie, I apologize. I was trying to make my remarks brief and to the point. In this clip, the majority of the attention is about the women. I ask, is this behavior going on all over the world? I doubt it. The party responsible for these tragic events is the recklessness of the adults. As a consequence, children die and so do the women. I do not think any amount of global funds will help this situation until this nation, Africa, gets it's act together. Call the babies whatever anyone wants, but they are human beings, not globs of flesh. This is my humble opinion and it may be wrong. I appreciate your clarification Jay. On this we probably agree. Instead of placing all the responsibility on women, I feel men have an obligation to wear a condom. I believe the lack of education limits both men and women's understanding about the hardships involved in adequately caring for children. Maybe it is a lack of family planning or maybe it is cultural but I feel once the woman is pregnant it is an absolute moral obligation for women to have basic obstetrical care. The women that die are someone's wife's and someone's daughters and it is a rotten shame that their deaths are preventable. I think part of the problem is that Africa in general is treated like a backwards country rather than a continent made up of many nations. Some are extremely rich and others are extremely poor. All countries rich or poor need to start treating women as human beings and children as their future. Pregnant women no matter where they live deserve proper and adequate medical care. Lack of family planning education. TB, Malaria, AIDS, foreign mining companies causing strife and pollution, starvation, drug companies using the people to test concoctions whilst pretending to help, starvation as populations and deserts grow in size. Lack of education, except the rich, And Africa is made up of several countries, Jay. Is the "8h" a parody on "hate"? |
