Actually, since most of the students I work with are planning on studying abroad, the main thing I have to do is help them prepare to deal with the pressures of life in the English speaking world, be they academic or otherwise. One of the biggest problem for Chinese students going abroad is the fact that most of China's population lives dramaticaly closer to the equator than most English Speaking countries, excepting Australia. Thus, a student who goes from living at at 29 degrees north in Chongqing, China's most populous city, to studying abroad at 40 degrees north in New York or 51 degress north in London has to deal with a dramatic shift in daylight hours.
