After that, both gospels and history proves the Jews persecuted Christians, just as Paul himself (a Pharisee before conversion) testifies that he sought "to kill" the Christians. Luke documents their plot to kill Pau... The term 'semitism' is of European origin in the 18th century as a description of a linguistically connected people. I am confident that most people understand the term 'antisemite' to refer to a primitive antagonism to a race of people.
