Took the words right out of my mouth, Mr Dwayne; NAMBLA talking point resource, no doubt.

That's not likely to happen. Our society is still sane enough to realize that's a bad idea. And GD, the point of the article is to say that it's a bad thing that kids are going through puberty earlier.

That's likely one factor, and the article agrees, but I think the poor quality of our food in our country is a bigger factor. This is both because the inorganic nature of it is causing harm, and because the bad ingredients in the food (most notably high fructose corn syrup) play a large role in the obesity epidemic.

All that plastic ... That's messed up. I clipped something related earlier. It's going to be many decades before we really understand the effects of all the chemicals we've pumped into our living environment.

It's the flood of signals picked up by the child's subconscious from immersion in a sick and devolving culture. Hormones are prematurely released.

That's an interesting thought, GD. The combo of growth hormones and environment. It's a new variation on the old "Nature vs Nurture"...

Günther Grass would say just the opposite -- if society were sick and "devolving" (I presume you mean "deteriorating"), kids ought to simply decide to stop growing. Why would their bodies decide to rush to join a diseased society?
