i cant seem to get this working, my baseband was still the same I upgraded to 2.2.1 on my 3G iphone. It updated my baseband to 2.30.03 Since I now have 2.30.03 baseband and firmware 2.2.1 on my iphone, this means I am no longer jailbroken, (thanks to iTunes bringing me back to stock.) How am I going to "download the application via Cydia MobileTerminal " if I am no longer jailbroken? Any phone with 2.30.03 update will not be jailbroken, so how can one downgrade from 2.30.03 without access to ssh/terminal via cydia? If you have cydia, you are still on the 2.28.00 anyway. Am I missing something? altrevo, Cydia had released the YellowSn0w for BB 2.30.03 BUT!!!! You can only Jailbroke your iPhone, but nor unlock it!!! Hey there, I have an iphone 3G running on firmware 2.2.1 with the latest baseband and I need to downgrade. I have jailbroken the iphone and so i installed the terminal via cydia. Of course, I have not restored to 2.2 as the first step requires, because I don't even know if its possible. HOWEVER bbupdaterextreme is used for UPGRADING the baseband, as a google search will reveal (the thing has a wiki). The reason for this I think is the fact that bbupdaterextreme can only UPGRADE the baseband, not DOWNGRADE it. If we could locate and delete the baseband files... And then install the 2.28.00, but it doesn't seem to be so simple... I read that the modem work like an other system, apart, like the BIOS in Windows. But, when we execute the commands above, something happens, there must be a way to do it... @nodesign DUDE the baseband files go INTO the baseband chip. You can't locate the files and delete them..................................... those baseband files represent like a baseband chip OS that get INTO THE BASEBAND MODEM. IT INSTALLS the update into the modem. It's not just a mere file you can replace. And, btw, the modem has signature checks, that being the reason for which we can't downgrade the baseband yet. I do understand your n00bn3ss, I was one once. @gorlov-n: I am not firm in the operation of terminal. So I don´t know how to download with terminal and how to copy the files in the directories and I saw there are more than one file coming with the download and if I try to change the directory to cd var it works, but if I try to change to /root, I get "permission denied". It works both on the 2G and the 3G iphone. The guide which is easy to follow costs only 50 Euros which can be done through paypal for security purposes.
