Barry_1066 says:
Hand pick someone who will do you bidding and have congress reject them -- what do you do?

You throw a fit, act like a spoiled child, call everyone unpatriotic that opposed you and do it in front of a hand picked group of reporters.

Time to call your Bluff Mr. Bush, will the American people continue to sit by and let you become the dictator you appear to be?

The attorney general is the office and has the power to go after the president -- this of course is why Bush want his puppet in the office. The attorney general is not a political seat, it is the head of the US justice department who work for the people -- to protect the people - not the president. The people need some protecting against the Bush administration.

From site.

He added: “It’s wrong for congressional leaders to make Judge Mukasey’s confirmation dependent on his willingness to go on the record about the details of a classified program he has not been briefed on.” (from site)
What is this?? he does not need to briefing on classified programs, what he is being asked is a clear question regarding the legality of waterboarding.

If the candidate for the USA's top legal job cannot answer that then he should withdraw, and allow someone who has the balls to enforce the law to take the position.

If the senators who started this, buckle under , from pressure from GWB without a satisfactory answer from Mukasey, then the tiny little bit of credibility they had will be gone.

This is their golden chance to prove that they are capable of doing the right thing, and that is to insist that the candidate for the position for attorney general is someone who upholds the law for ALL, including the government.

Time to call your Bluff Mr. Bush,

Not to call his bluff, but to tell him what the etiquette is.
